I. OSS Directly Supports US VISIT

OSS, in partnership with the Smart Border Alliance, has directly supported the U.S. Government’s flagship operation to gain control of our borders through stringent regulation of travel into and out of the U.S.  OSS acts as both a SUPPLIER of key personnel and as management CONSULTANTS for two integral divisions of the government’s US-VISIT program – the Data Integrity Group and the Law Enforcement and Intelligence Unit. The US-VISIT program, chartered within the Department of Homeland Security, has established four broad goals:

  • Enhance the security of our citizens and visitors
  • Facilitate legitimate trade and travel
  • Ensure the integrity of our immigration system
  • Protect the privacy of our visitors

US-VISIT Operations supported by OSS:

Data Integrity Group (DIG) – OSS-supplied DIG personnel provide essential analysis of US-VISIT data for errors and omissions.  They are responsible for correcting data and reporting changes back to the appropriate system of record owners.  The DIG also provides output to end users in the form of reports.  One such report, the Unconfirmed Overstay Report, is used by DHS’ Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency to provide leads to their field offices for location and apprehension of US-VISIT violators determined to present a possible threat to public safety and/or national security.

Law Enforcement and Intelligence Unit (LE&I) - The LEI branch serves as the primary point of contact within US-VISIT for interactions with law enforcement and national security agencies and other security-related organizations.  The LE&I is primarily responsible for ensuring that the US-VISIT watch list contains only accurate, actionable biometrically-based information.  In addition, LE&I is responsible for participating in efforts to establish formal information sharing agreements with other law enforcement and intelligence agencies.
